Three GHJ Leaders Named Entertainment Business Visionaries in the Los Angeles Times’ The Envelope Magazine

LOS ANGELES, CA (June 24, 2024) – GHJ, a national advisory and accounting firm, is proud to announce that Entertainment Practice Leader Ilan Haimoff, Profit Participation Services Practice Leader Peter Klass and Profit Participation Services Managing Director Anita Wu were named Entertainment Business Visionaries in the Los Angeles Times’ The Envelope Magazine.

Entertainment Business Visionaries is a new section from L.A. Times B2B Publishing that celebrates the unsung heroes of the entertainment industry with a focus on the individuals whose expertise significantly contributes to the financing and advising of projects and transactions across the entertainment business community.

ILAN HAIMOFF

Ilan has over 30 years of expertise in entertainment forensic accounting and is GHJ's Entertainment Practice Leader. His specialty in profit participation and forensic accounting makes him a trusted advisor for talent and producers alike for many years. Ilan’s role extends beyond GHJ as he regularly engages with the industry through speaking engagements, publications and studies. He also hosts GHJ’s Media Clips Podcast, which features vital conversations about the entertainment industry for the past six years.

He is a member of the USC Institute on Entertainment Law and Business Planning Committee, the California State University Chancellor's Advisory Council on the Entertainment Industry and the Television Academy. He is also a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors, the ABA Forum on the Entertainment and Sports Industries, the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and the AICPA.

PETER KLASS

Peter has over two decades of specialized experience in entertainment accounting and audit, with a focus on profit participations and contract compliance. His background includes significant roles at major studios like Sony Pictures Entertainment and contributions to seminal industry publications. At GHJ, Peter leads initiatives that clarify and enhance profit-sharing arrangements.

He is a key player in resolving complex financial disputes within the entertainment sector. Peter is a co-author of the 3rd edition of Movie Money: Understanding Hollywood’s (Creative) Accounting Practices and has written and been interviewed on various entertainment and media topics. He is a guest lecturer at Pepperdine University and Strauss Institute for Dispute Resolution and has spoken about film and television profit participations at industry events and webinars.

ANITA WU

Anita Wu has over 25 years of auditing experience and has made substantial contributions to GHJ and the entertainment industry. She has conducted profit participation audits on behalf of talent, investors and co-producers at both major and mini studios to ensure fairness and transparency for stakeholders. Anita has also performed audits of merchandise licensing royalties and music royalties.

Beyond her audit expertise, Anita co-founded GHJ’s Women’s Empowerment Cohort and is a member of GHJ’s DEIA Steering Committee, in which she has overseen and supported the creation of programs that support women, people of color and working parents at the firm. She serves as a mentor and inspiration to women in the accounting and entertainment industries.
