The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced the Pandemic Response and Safety (PRS) Grant Program. This program provides grants to food processors, meat processors, distributors and wholesalers of nondurable goods that meet SBA small business size standards. Approximately $650 million is available to fund applications through this program. The funds will be used to issue grants for costs incurred between Jan. 27, 2020 and Dec. 31, 2021.
MAXIMUM FUNDING
The maximum funding, upon approval, is $20,000 while the minimum funding amount is $1,500.
ARE YOU ELIGIBLE?
The eligible taxpayers are “small businesses” with NAICS codes listed under Subsector 111, Subsector 311 or Subsector 424. Click here to determine eligibility.
WHEN WILL THE APPLICATION PERIOD OPEN?
The application will be made available on Sept. 23, 2021 and will close on Nov. 8, 2021.
INTERESTED IN APPLYING?
Upon confirming the eligibility, companies must register with DUNS (click here to register with DUNS) in order to obtain the DUNS number. Upon obtaining the DUNS number, the application can be filed online (click here to file a grant application). The estimated time to file the application online may vary between 30 minutes to an hour or more depending upon the type of taxpayer.
